Job Summary:
To provide and maintain a flexible, quality service to the standards and frequency within the cleaning specification.
Main Responsibilities/Job Description: Cleaner
To carry out general cleaning duties to the agreed standards and work schedules provided, including:
· sweep, wet mop, and floor polish designated areas
· vacuum, dust, polish furniture, fixtures and fittings (this may include light fittings, blinds, etc.)
· clean outside areas, dog kennels, cell areas as may be required
· strip and apply floor polish
· wash walls as required
· replenish towels, soap and toilet rolls as and when required
· high dust (with high dusting tool) all areas out of normal reach
· daily clean all sanitary appliances, fittings and common areas
· strip and wax all VCT floors, wood vinyls, grout cleaning, carpet extraction, upholstery cleaning, and concrete-gravel floors
· machine-scrub on all types of floor surfaces
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Cleaner
· empty waste bins into waste bags and carry these to collection points and to wash and re-line bins as and when required
· ensure all safety precautions are taken to ensure the safe use of all equipment at all times
· maintain all equipment to be of a clean condition
· report all faults to the supervisor
· participate in all relevant and required training
· provide cover for colleagues as may be occasionally required
· ensure compliance with statutory requirements in relation to information management including the Data Protection Act of 1998, the Freedom of Information Act of 2000 and the Code of Practice on Management of Police Information of 2005, as appropriate
· promote and comply with company policies on equal opportunities and health and safety, both in the delivery of services and the treatment of others
